7 Questions that Maryland Voter’s will decide

Those of you registered to vote in Maryland, will decide seven referendum questions this year.  No, that is not a typo.  Seven statewide questions will appear on all Maryland voters’ ballots, but depending on which county you are registered in you may have additional ballot questions.  Here is a breakdown of the 7 statewide questions:

 

Question 1:

Subject—Judicial Reform

Proposes different qualifications in that judges of the Orphan’s Court for Prince George’s County must be admitted to the Maryland Bar

Question 2:

Subject—Judicial Reform

Proposes different qualifications in that judges of the Orphan’s Court for Baltimore County must be admitted to the Maryland Bar

 

Question 3:

Subject—Law

Changes the point at which an elected official charged with a felony or certain misdemeanors is automatically suspended or removed from office.

 

Question 4:

Subject—Education

The Dream Act, would uphold a state law that would allow some undocumented immigrants to pay lower, in-state tuition at Maryland colleges and universities

Question 5:

Subject—Redistricting

Would approve Maryland’s congressional redistricting plan passed in October 2011

Question 6:

Subject—Marriage

To uphold the new law that allows same-sex couples to obtain a civil marriage license

Question 7:

Subject—Gambling

Allow the construction of Maryland’s sixth casino, which would be located in Prince George’s County, and allow table games at all state casino’s and increase the number of slot machines.
